Austin 147

Austin 147 is a new affordable and supportive housing building under development in Bronx’s Mott Haven neighborhood. At 11 stories, 40 of its 80 units will be set aside as supportive housing for formerly homeless adults and families with special needs. The design draws off the industrial look of the area using Corten steel accent panels along with black and white brick. Residential amenities for the tenants are on the first floor along with a rear yard and an elevated terrace on the 11th floor. The building plan zigs and zags along the property line facing the Bruckner Expressway, where a large mural will be painted and really make this building be iconic in the neighborhood.
